More than 1,000 Singapore Pools employees are expected to receive AI training from NTUC LearningHub over the next year under a new partnership supporting Singapore Pools’ AI for Everyone initiative.

The partnership will also extend learning opportunities to Singapore Pools’ charity partners, helping employees from charity and social service organisations develop practical AI skills alongside its workforce.

Singapore Pools Chief Executive Officer Lam Chee Weng and NTUC LearningHub Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Ong signed a memorandum of understanding on 15 October 2026, with NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng as a witness.

Mr Ng said that every worker should be supported in learning and using AI with confidence, and that this partnership is a good example of how organisations can bring their workers and partners as they transform.

He added: “Through NTUC’s AI-Ready SG initiative, NTUC is making AI learning more accessible to workers at different stages of their careers, so that they can adapt, stay relevant and grasp new opportunities as jobs evolve.”

Practical AI training for different workplace needs

The training programmes by NTUC LearningHub will cater to Singapore Pools’ employees at different stages of their AI journey, with an emphasis on building practical skills and confidence to use the technology in their everyday work.

Frontline employees will be offered SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace, while staff beginning their AI journey can take Fundamentals of AI Applications.

More advanced courses will include AI Innovation Unleashed: Navigating the Terrain of Prompt Engineering and Prompt Power: Elevate Your Microsoft 365 Copilot Skills.

As the training partner, NTUC LearningHub said it will draw on its expertise in workforce learning and skills development to help participants apply AI in their respective workplaces.

Mr Ong highlighted the importance of developing workers’ judgement and adaptability alongside their technical skills.

He added: “Through NTUC LearningHub’s continued collaboration with businesses across different sectors, we have seen that the greatest value from AI is realised when workers are empowered to apply these tools confidently and effectively in their roles.”

Extending AI learning to charity partners

With support from The Singapore Manual & Mercantile Workers’ Union, NTUC LearningHub will provide five complimentary places for Singapore Pools’ charity partners at every AI workshop conducted for its employees.

This is expected to benefit more than 300 employees from charity and social service organisations over the course of the one-year partnership.

They will learn alongside Singapore Pools employees, gaining skills to improve productivity and better support the communities they serve.

Participating organisations can explore how AI tools can streamline administrative processes and improve their use of information, freeing up time and resources to focus on their beneficiaries.

Mr Lam said supporting the community goes beyond financial contributions and includes sharing knowledge, resources and capabilities.

He said: “As we equip our own people with AI skills, we want to extend these opportunities to the organisations we work alongside. By growing our capabilities together, we hope to help our partners focus more of their time and resources on what matters most: the communities they serve.”
